Attorney and Founder
Pablo Cabrera
Professional Biography
Attorney Pablo Cabrera has practiced law for more than 30 years, building his career around direct advice, careful legal analysis, and a commitment to telling clients the truth—even when the answer is difficult.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Pablo earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics with honors in 1991 and his Juris Doctor in 1994, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He passed the Puerto Rico bar examination in 1995 with a score in the 98.5 percentile and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2016.
Pablo began his legal career as a public defender, representing people facing criminal charges and serious personal consequences. That experience taught him the importance of listening without judgment, examining the facts carefully, and making sure every client understands what is at stake. Although he continues to handle selected criminal matters, most of his career has been devoted to immigration law, contract negotiations and disputes, and civil litigation in state and federal courts.
Over the course of his practice, Pablo has represented individuals, families, multinational corporations, and insurance companies. His immigration work began well before Florida established its immigration-law board-certification program, giving him decades of practical experience with difficult cases, changing laws, federal agencies, and the human consequences of legal decisions.
He founded Cabrera & Associates, P.A. in 2003. The firm reflects his belief that clients deserve more than reassuring words: they deserve a candid assessment of the facts, a clear explanation of the risks, and realistic advice about what can—and cannot—be accomplished. He does not believe in promising outcomes or encouraging clients to spend money when the facts do not support a viable path forward.
Pablo also understands that legal problems rarely remain confined to a file. Immigration proceedings can affect families, employment, freedom, and a person’s ability to remain in the country they consider home. Business and litigation matters can affect livelihoods, reputations, and years of work. His approach combines compassion for those consequences with the directness clients need to make informed decisions.
Pablo devotes significant time to pro bono representation. He has been married since 1995 and has two adult children. He moved to the continental United States with his family in 2000. Outside the office, he enjoys golf, playing the guitar, and traveling—especially to Spain.
Clients who consult Pablo can expect careful preparation, straightforward answers, and an attorney who will tell them the truth before they spend money or take action.
